Christian voters were a much sought-after voting bloc in this historic election, as Americans elected Donald Trump as the nation’s 45th president last night. Today, the American Pastors Network (APN, www.americanpastorsnetwork.net) released the following statement.
“When the polls are so off and the pundits get it so wrong and we can see no other explanation for a Donald Trump victory, we can rest assured that it is God who worked a miracle,” said APN President Sam Rohrer. “We knew and prayed that at the end of the day, a win—should God provide one—would be humanly impossible and all would have to thank God for His doing.
“The vote of the American people was an overwhelming call for change, a rejection of corruption and pushback against the enemies of Christianity and freedom, such as Islam, globalism and the establishment,” Rohrer continued. “The process for renewal of our nation, however, must be led on our knees in prayer, as we humble ourselves before God and seek His blessing. It also involves a commitment by the pastors in the pulpits of America to once again preach the whole counsel of God and reteach our people that the biblical principles that made America great are the same principles that can restore and heal our nation—one nation under God.”
Rohrer hosts the daily, live, one-hour “Stand in the Gap Today,” the news and commentary radio program from APN that airs on about 425 stations nationwide daily at noon ET. Leading up to the election, Rohrer shared his “Voting Integrity Checklist,” a series of questions he developed for himself to use during nearly 20 years in office as a legislator.
